De Herradores, Albéitares y Veterinarios Municipales en el Valle del Alto Deba (1866-1983)

Abstract

The author geographically situates the Gipuzkoan Alto Deba-Debagoiena, the evolution of its economy and main buildings. He cites the veterinary surgeons who practiced in the town and gives a biographical sketch of the different municipal veterinary surgeons, who were responsible for an important part of human public health, such as the control of animal food and health, describing a number of anecdotes to have occurred while going about their professional work.
