Abstract
The child removals carried out by the Basque Government in the Second
Republic is a subject that has been dealt with before by different researchers.
The innovation of this work is to focus mainly on the health aspects, highlighting
two episodes of great importance: the medical check-ups carried out by
the English doctors, Dr Ellis and Dr Russell, on the children who had been
evacuated to Great Britain, and the evacuation of the children’s sanatorium
in Górliz.
